Company Profile The Utility Service Agency, Inc. is a manufacturers' representative specializing in products for the electric utility industry. David Cooke and Jack Steppe founded the company in 1978 to serve the geographic areas of North and South Carolina. The USA currently represents twenty threee manufacturers in the territory of North and South Carolina, and within the past few years, has expanded into Virginia, West Virginia and Southern Maryland with some of our lines. Our central office is located in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and we maintain satellite offices outside Charlotte, North Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina, and Richmond, Virginia. The agency employs six outside salesmen: Don Bowden, Brett Bruton, Dave Cooke, Jim Cooke, Wade Summerlin and Lee Brady Younts as well as five inside/support personnel including Mary (Pinky) Cooke, Jason Cutler, Newsome Moore, Conrad Stuntz and Christy Woolley. Nova Wilder works with us part-time. The major
emphasis of the USA is service to our customers and our manufacturers.
We work closely with Engineering and Purchasing at all of the major
utilities and rural electrical cooperatives in our territory. Through a
successful distributor network, we serve the REC’s, contractors, and
municipalities. The USA is
very involved with in-field teaching and product demonstrations. We own
and maintain ten technical trailers for demonstration and training
purposes. Our concept of selling is based on the successful theory of
“hands-on” demonstrations, active follow-up, and service to the
product – past, present, and future. |
